One of the interesting things about having my book up for pre-sale is that Amazon gives you some pretty detailed information on how many people have purchased and where they’ve purchased. Apparently, I’ve written a book with international appeal. Who knew? So far I’ve had pre-orders from the UK, Germany, Japan, and Australia, in addition to the pre-orders from the US.
Now I have a friend who has followed my book announcements closely from Japan, so that wasn’t a surprise, and I have a bit of correspondence with a couple of authors in the UK, but I have no idea where the Australian purchase came from. I was about to say I didn’t know about the German purchase, but I have an MBA classmate who lives there, so maybe . . .
Bottom line, this whole pre-order period is exciting. I’m finding last minute glitches with files and fixing them for both print and e-book. It is a bit stressful, but exciting. And now I can say I have an international audience for my work. Pretty cool.
